Key Responsibilities The main purpose of this role is to define and drive the forecasting and valuation strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance framework to support Immunocore's portfolio and corporate objectives.
- Serve as Immunocore's internal subject matter expert and adviser for forecasting, valuation, and portfolio analytics.
- Leverage primary and secondary research findings and collaborate with key business partners to ensure these models reflect a robust understanding of market dynamics and emerging product profiles.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and build patient-based forecasts and DCF valuation models to support investment decisions and company valuation.

Triangulate data from multiple primary and secondary sources to help develop a holistic package of baseline assumptions for asset valuation, resolving conflicting evidence and exercising independent judgement where data is limited or ambiguous.

Build patient-based revenue forecasts and DCF valuation models for pipeline assets, selecting and, where required, creating fit-for-purpose modelling approaches.

Proactively build trusted partnerships with key business partners across development, clinical, finance, commercial, and business development.

Influence, negotiate, and build alignment among senior cross-functional stakeholders where assumptions, evidence, or valuation conclusions are complex, uncertain, or contested.

Develop sensitivity and scenario analyses to characterize key forecast drivers and key risks for senior leadership.

Develop clear summaries of model outputs, conclusions, and implications for decision-making and present to senior leadership.

Drive delivery of the corporate valuation, ensuring assumptions are robust, well-evidenced, and clearly documented.

Support Investor Relations with guidance on sales forecasts for external communication.

Inform company-level strategy through forecasting and valuation insight.

Lead complex cross-functional forecasting, valuation, and portfolio planning initiatives, coordinating senior stakeholders and driving alignment on key business decisions.

Develop comparative valuation analyses that position Immunocore’s portfolio against competitors to inform portfolio decisions and the external valuation narrative.

Apply valuation metrics in portfolio-level scenario planning, quantifying the trade-offs between investment options to inform prioritization and resource allocation decisions.

Support Business Development by valuing licensing and partnering opportunities and outlining key sensitivities.

Establish and maintain best-practice methodologies, governance, and quality standards for forecasting and valuation activities.

Lead the continued evolution of the forecasting and valuation platform, improving the approach and tools in line with the agreed analytics strategy.

Identify, evaluate, and implement AI and other novel tools and data sources to build more complex models in less time, improve forecast accuracy, and automate routine analyses, freeing capacity for higher-value strategic work.

Act as internal champion for forecasting and valuation methods — validating outputs, defining where AI-assisted analysis is and is not appropriate, building stakeholder confidence in the results, and sharing best practice with colleagues across Portfolio Strategy and partner functions.

- Inform portfolio strategy projects and deliver CI insights to drive strategy decisions for pipeline products, as required.
- Scope and deliver market opportunity assessments for pipeline assets and/or new indications.
- Synthesize competitor and clinical data to define the current and potential future treatment landscape and clearly identify implications for Immunocore.
- Develop and present recommendations to senior leadership on Immunocore’s R&D pipeline, TPP requirements, and cross-portfolio strategy decisions to directly influence portfolio prioritization, clinical investment decisions, corporate valuation, and long-term company value creation.
- Deliver Competitive Intelligence (CI) insights to drive strategy decisions for pipeline assets, as required.
- Analyse and track companies, products, and technology platforms within defined focus area(s), taking accountability for CI agenda and deliverables in that area.
- Translate detailed competitor analysis into clear and concise summaries and implications, ensuring all outputs are evidence-based and underpinned by thorough analysis.
- Undertake deep dives on specific topics as required to inform strategy development and provide real-time updates on key competitor developments.
Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences & 14+ years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in biotech/pharma required, via industry, banking, or consultancy roles.
- Experience in oncology essential; experience in additional disease areas (e.g., infectious diseases, autoimmune) also desirable.
- Business or financial qualification an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent analytical abilities, including experience performing very complex competitor and market opportunity analysis in the biopharma industry.
- High level of financial literacy, including the ability to build DCF-valuation models and to design new modelling approaches where no precedent exists.
- Ability to collate and structure data from multiple sources to form a clear narrative and distill key issues.
- Strong understanding of the pharma/biotech industry – technical, clinical, and commercial knowledge.
- Highly familiar with technical materials (e.g., scientific publications and clinical manuscripts).
- Strong communication skills – ability to present analysis and justify assumptions to senior leadership, and to influence, negotiate, and persuade on difficult and contested concepts.
- Strong project management abilities; able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience contributing to company-level strategy, corporate valuation, investor relations, and/or business development activity.
- Track record of improving processes, tools, or platforms, including adoption of new technologies (e.g., AI-enabled modelling and analysis).
