Job Summary

The Associate Director - FP&A role owns the analysis and narrative on SHI's revenue and gross profit performance for the CFO and executive leadership. It exists to explain what is genuinely driving the top line and margin, where growth is won and lost, and where the commercial opportunity sits, and to convert that into recommendations leadership can act on.

Role Description

Performance analysis and insight

  • Own the monthly and quarterly revenue and gross profit analysis for the CFO, leading with the commercial read: growth source, win and loss, customer penetration, retention and renewal performance.
  • Decompose revenue and gross profit movements into their underlying drivers — volume, price and rate, customer, product and category mix, new versus existing business — and quantify the contribution of each.
  • Own the gross profit bridge and explain divergence between revenue growth and gross profit growth, including the effect of mix on margin rate, expressed in basis points.
  • Analyse the customer, product and segment portfolio to identify penetration, cross-sell and white-space opportunity, and size the value at stake.
  • Investigate anomalies and emerging trends proactively rather than only on request, and bring forward findings that change decisions.
  • Own the revenue and gross profit content of the monthly CFO reporting pack.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership, and respond to executive challenge on the numbers.

Planning and forecasting

  • Build and maintain the revenue and gross profit driver models that underpin the annual planning cycle and in-year forecasting.
  • Pressure-test segment and practice submissions during the annual planning process, ensuring every growth number decomposes into named drivers.
  • Support scenario and sensitivity analysis on commercial performance for leadership decision-making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
