Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE
This role is responsible for supporting institutional channel marketing initiatives that drive business development and client retention globally. The Associate Director will partner closely with institutional sales, client service, product, and investment teams to develop and deliver marketing programs that engage sophisticated institutional investors and consultants.
The role requires significant institutional asset management experience, strong product marketing capabilities, and the ability to translate complex investment strategies into compelling client-facing content and campaigns. The individual will manage projects, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure delivery of high-quality marketing campaigns, sales enablement resources, and product-related marketing collateral.
This position works closely with colleagues in London and the US on the global product and marketing team, as well as the Client Group worldwide. The Associate Director will take ownership of regional and global marketing tasks and projects, acting as a key liaison and strategic partner to institutional sales and client service.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
We are particularly interested in candidates with significant institutional asset management experience and a strong product marketing background who can effectively engage sophisticated institutional investors, consultants, and other professional investment audiences.
Essential Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of experience in asset management marketing, with substantial experience supporting institutional distribution channels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of institutional investors, investment consultants, and the institutional sales process.
- Strong product marketing experience, including developing product positioning, messaging, and client-facing investment content.
- Proven ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly and effectively to sophisticated institutional audiences.
- Experience creating and maintaining a broad range of product marketing materials, including presentations, sales collateral, website content, emails, videos, and thought leadership content.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to measure campaign effectiveness and inform decisions.
- Excellent writing, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across sales, product, investment, and compliance teams.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant financial qualifications (e.g., IMC, CFA, CAIA) and/or marketing qualifications (e.g., CIM).
- Experience supporting global institutional distribution efforts across multiple regions.
- Familiarity with marketing automation, CRM, and sales-enablement platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, and Seismic.
Role responsibilities
Campaign management:
- Support the end-to-end execution of integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
- Provide strategic input on campaign planning and optimization based on performance metrics.
- Manage the creation of institutional marketing deliverables, including copywriting, design, and compliance review, through to final production.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.
Sales enablement:
- Act as a key marketing contact for institutional sales and client service teams, providing proactive support and strategic guidance.
- Manage bespoke presentation requests, consultant materials, and custom product marketing solutions for high-value institutional opportunities and client retention initiatives.
- Support relationships with distribution partners through reporting, content development, and targeted outreach.
Marketing collateral management:

- Own the development, customization, and approval of certain institutional marketing materials, ensuring adherence to brand and regulatory standards.
- Write, edit, and build content for multiple channels, including email, newsletters, social media, films, advertising, and presentations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing materials and create new resources that support institutional growth.
- Manage Impax content on third-party platforms, including posting, tracking, and promotion.
- Help select, brief, and manage third-party suppliers, including agencies and publishers.
Product marketing support:
- Partner with Product, Investment, and Distribution teams to create and maintain product-related marketing collateral that supports sales, client engagement, and retention across institutional distribution channels.
- Develop and update product positioning, messaging, and value propositions for investment strategies.
- Create and maintain a range of client-facing materials, including presentations, talking points, sales ideas, emails, website content, videos, factsheets, and other marketing resources.
- Translate complex investment concepts, portfolio positioning, and market insights into clear, compelling, and compliant marketing content.
- Support product launches, enhancements, and strategic initiatives through development of coordinated product marketing deliverables.
- Ensure product marketing materials remain current, accurate, and aligned with investment, regulatory, and business objectives.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, preparing reports and insights to inform future strategies.
- Track ROI of marketing initiatives and recommend optimization strategies.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Own the compliance review process for certain institutional marketing materials, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
