What this job involves:

The JLL Lease Advisory team is a market-leading UK-wide business of professionals providing advice to all sectors of commercial property, including Office, Industrial, and Retail, along with specialist sectors such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Leisure.

A Director/Associate level position is required to join the Leeds Lease Advisory team, supporting the Head of the Regions, in the delivery of the business and development plans to achieve the Group’s exciting goals. You would be joining a market-leading team of 37+ Surveyors based across JLL’s UK office network, having the opportunity to be part of influencing the team’s future growth strategy in the Yorkshire and North-East Markets.

The individual will also play an integral role in the senior team of the Leeds office focused on strengthening the firm’s local client base and targeting new opportunities working in conjunction with agency, investment, and the other professional teams.

The primary aspect of the role will involve providing advice to JLL’s investor and occupiers clients in connection to rent reviews, lease renewals, lease regearing, and surrender assignments within the Yorkshire and North-East markets. The individual will also be able to provide general lease and rental advice to clients and colleagues across the firm.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Work alongside other Directors to manage the client base to deliver the financial goals for the Yorkshire and North-East team
  • Undertake lease advisory assignments commensurate with the role
  • Target business development opportunities working with colleagues within the Group and other departments of the Leeds office and wider firm
  • Provide accurate management information to the Head of the Region and Senior Leadership Team of the Lease Advisory Group
  • Delivering year-on-year income and growth
  • Manage fee negotiations, billings, all team projects, and debt recovery

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

  • Commercial acumen providing clients with the best solutions having the ability to identify opportunities beyond the immediate client brief
  • Ability to manage timelines and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Engage, support, and deal with multiple instructions
  • Ability to manage clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong negotiation and quantitative skills, including analysis and interpretation of large data sets

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Good working knowledge of the Yorkshire and North-East markets and client base would be preferable but not essential
  • Experience of rent review, lease regear, and lease renewal negotiations
  • Experience of Expert Witness reporting writing is desirable but not essential
  • Enthusiastic, self-driven, and collaborative
  • Agile, trustworthy, courageous, innovative
  • A full driving licence
