Associate Director – Strategic Market Access, Value Communications | United Kingdom
Reporting to: Director, Strategic Market Access (SMA)
Job Summary
Are you passionate about translating complex evidence into compelling value stories that influence access to medicines and healthcare innovations? As an Associate Director within our Strategic Market Access team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-impact value communication programmes that help clients demonstrate the value of their products to payers and other key stakeholders.
As a senior member of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary global organisation, you will combine scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and client leadership to develop clear, compelling, and evidence-based value narratives. You will lead impactful projects, build trusted client relationships, provide strategic direction and quality oversight, and collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines to deliver solutions that address global and regional market access needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead value communication projects and provide strategic and scientific oversight across a range of high-quality deliverables, including:
- Global and core value dossiers, including regional and local adaptations
- Value propositions, value stories, and value message frameworks
- Payer value decks and visually engaging value presentations
- Objection handlers, payer communication tools, executive summaries, and field-based materials
- Training decks and supporting materials that help internal and field teams effectively communicate product value
- Value-focused manuscripts and publications, including publication-ready scientific content communicating clinical, economic, and humanistic evidence
- Evidence-based materials that support payer engagement, internal alignment, and broader market access strategy
In Addition, You Will
- Lead client relationships and multidisciplinary project teams, managing timelines, budgets, and project delivery while ensuring exceptional quality standards
- Provide strategic guidance and senior review across project deliverables
- Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and new business opportunities, while identifying opportunities to deepen and expand client partnerships
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Contribute to the evolution of Value Communications methodologies, best practices, and team capabilities

Experience, Skills & Qualifications
You will bring:
- A degree in life sciences, health economics, public health, health policy, or another relevant discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous
- Years of experience in value communications, market access, HEOR, medical communications, or a related consultancy or pharmaceutical environment
- Significant hands-on experience developing and strategically directing value communication deliverables
- Strong experience delivering global/core value dossiers, value propositions and stories, payer value decks, objection handlers, training materials, and payer communication tools
- Demonstrable experience developing scientific manuscripts for publication alongside a broad range of value communication materials
- A strong understanding of the global market access landscape and the communication needs of payer, HTA, and other market access stakeholders across different markets
- Excellent scientific writing, editing, and referencing skills, with the ability to critically review and enhance complex deliverables
- Proven experience leading client relationships and providing strategic recommendations, including the confidence to challenge constructively where appropriate
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, priorities, and risks
- Experience contributing to proposals, pitches, scopes of work, and wider business development activities
- Experience providing senior quality oversight and delivering clear, constructive feedback to colleagues
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships both within OPEN Health and with external stakeholders
- A proactive, collaborative, and commercially minded approach, with the ability to balance competing priorities while consistently delivering high-quality work
