Associate Director - M&A
We are working with a technology and media M&A boutique in London to appoint an Associate Director. With strong deal flow and an excellent work–life balance, this is an opportunity to take on a senior role in a business where delivering successful transactions and maintaining a sustainable working culture go hand in hand.
Our client is looking for an experienced M&A professional who enjoys leading transactions, building client relationships and developing junior colleagues. You will work closely with the senior team, with meaningful responsibility across both deal execution and business development.
The role
As Associate Director, you will play a central role in progressing transactions and helping develop the firm’s technology and media practice. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading M&A execution, managing transactions from initial preparation through to completion and coordinating clients, counterparties and advisers.
- Overseeing transaction materials and financial analysis, including valuation, financial modelling, marketing documents and due diligence.
- Building trusted client relationships, providing commercially minded advice and acting as a key day-to-day contact throughout a transaction.
- Supporting origination and developing the team, contributing to pitches and sector coverage while coaching junior colleagues and reviewing their work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The opportunity would suit an existing Associate Director or an experienced Vice President seeking greater responsibility within a smaller firm.
Why consider this opportunity?
The combination of strong deal flow, direct access to senior colleagues and excellent work–life balance makes this a compelling alternative to a larger platform. You will have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to the business, remain close to clients and transactions, and help shape the development of a small team.
Live transactions will naturally bring demanding periods, but the firm places a genuine emphasis on balance and sustainable working practices.
