About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Associate Director to join our growing engineering team at Kiloh Associates. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional who is looking to take a leading role in delivering high-quality engineering consultancy across a diverse portfolio of projects.
You will work with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams, providing expert advice on a range of building and energy projects. The role will involve a combination of technical delivery, project management, client development, and mentoring of less experienced colleagues.
Our projects span sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, development, industrial, and residential, providing the opportunity to work on varied and challenging environmental projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of building and energy projects.
- Provide technical input into engineering reports.
- Design and implement investigations and site surveys.
- Develop and review technical reports, assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert technical advice to clients and project teams.
- Manage projects, budgets, programmes, and technical deliverables.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulators, landowners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Support business development through preparation of proposals, fee estimates, and technical approaches.
- Identify opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior and intermediate consultants.
- Contribute to the continued development of our hydrology and hydrogeology services.

About You
We are seeking an experienced consultant with a strong technical background in building structures. We recognize that great candidates do not always meet every criterion listed below. If your experience is closely aligned with the role and you believe you could make a positive contribution to the team, we would encourage you to apply:
- Work closely with project managers to establish project timelines and designs.
- Develop diagrams and visual aids and prepare design specifications.
- Execute project based on outlined criteria.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
- 5 years of engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with Tekla and Revit design software preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills, and design skills.
- Experience managing projects and providing technical leadership.
- The ability to develop trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites where required.

Membership of a relevant professional body, such as IStructE or ICE, and Chartership would be advantageous.
