Associate Director of Medical Education
Medical Education plays a vital role in supporting the Trust's ambition to be a leading teaching organisation and provider of outstanding patient care. As Associate Director of Medical Education, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Trust-wide medical education function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate medical education across all East Kent Hospitals sites.
This is a highly influential senior leadership role, requiring the ability to work across organisational boundaries to shape the future of medical education, enhance learner experience and ensure the Trust remains an excellent environment for training and development.
Responsibilities
- Overarching managerial responsibility for supporting postgraduate and undergraduate medical education services and delivery across East Kent Hospitals
- Lead the development, implementation and review of the Trust’s Medical Education Strategy, ensuring alignment with the Trust’s strategic objectives, workforce plans and external regulatory requirements.
- Accountability for the management of the Education Centres
- Responsibility for the quality assurance and review processes of postgraduate and undergraduate medical education
- Ensuring effective delivery of the NHSE Education Funding Agreement
- Responsibility for ensuring effective systems and processes are in place to ensure the Trust meets required regulatory and compliance standards, including those set by GMC, CQC, NHSE Workforce Training and Education (WTE), Medical Schools and the Royal Colleges.
- Accountability for developing new business, commercial partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to maximise income generation in line with EKHUFT financial targets
- Responsible manager for the development and provision of high-quality medical education and training, performance monitoring and development of effective and innovative learning environments.
- Overarching financial management responsibilities for the Medical Education Department
