Associate Director of Nursing - Urgent and Emergency Care
With the growth and development of our Urgent and Emergency Care offering, this is an exciting time to join our team as Associate Director of Nursing - Urgent and Emergency Care.
This senior nursing leadership role will be responsible for shaping the strategic, professional and operational leadership of Urgent and Emergency Care services (ED, SDEC & UTC) and for contributing to the wider professional nursing leadership, quality governance and workforce agenda across the Medicine Division and Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director, General Manager, Divisional Chief Nurse, operational teams, and system partners.
- Develop integrated urgent and emergency care pathways.
- Ensure patients receive timely assessment, treatment, and onward care within clinically appropriate timescales.
- Model visible, compassionate, and effective leadership.
- Support and coach colleagues in their leadership roles.
Required Skills and Experience
- Expert knowledge and extensive prior experience of emergency care quality indicators.
- Familiarity with operational performance metrics, workforce productivity, patient safety measures, and national urgent and emergency care standards.
- Ability to lead and be accountable for continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to safe and sustainable delivery of the NHS Constitutional Standards.
