About the Company
This firm employs the largest team of sector specialists in the UK, providing professional brokerage, valuation, and advisory services from offices in major cities across Britain and Europe. They have been doing this for over 90 years, so they know their sectors and local markets inside out. They work closely with their clients to guide and conclude transactions of any size, covering all aspects of leisure, forecourts, convenience retail, hotels, restaurants and pubs, social care and elderly care, childcare & education facilities, dental practices, and pharmacies.
About the Role
Associate Director or Director – Commercial Valuation – Glasgow office
You will work alongside the market-leading senior Care, Retail & Leisure teams and report to the Managing Director, whilst retaining a good level of autonomy. The brand, company reputation, and market knowledge will help you to open doors and become a trusted advisor for clients to rely upon with confidence. Based from the Glasgow office, you will cover the majority of Scotland and will have the autonomy to organise your diary in the most efficient way possible. You will be working alongside and learning from two Directors, one who has been with the firm over 20 years and the other for nearly 10 years.
Responsibilities
Purpose of the Role
To deliver and grow predominantly the Care, Retail & Leisure Professional services, providing valuations and advice with a particular focus on going-concern assets. The role will involve mentoring and influencing others, with the opportunity to build a team over time. You will be a key member of the firm's wider valuation team, developing strong relationships with banks, investors, accountants, and operators through strong networking.

Main Duties
- Ensure full compliance with RICS rules, professional standards, and internal company policies
- Lead and secure valuation instructions
- Survey and value properties and trading businesses to determine market value
- Prepare, present, and deliver high-quality reports
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Develop and manage an external network of key contacts, including operators, solicitors, accountants, and other professional advisers
- Proactively generate new business
- Maintain a strong awareness of market activity, trends, and sector developments
- Work towards and consistently achieve agreed performance and revenue targets
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell services across the wider Group
Qualifications
- MRICS Status
- Registered Valuer Status
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
Required Skills
- Demonstrable experience applying appropriate valuation methodologies
- A methodical and thorough approach to valuation work
- Strong experience in preparing clear, well-structured valuation reports
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong IT proficiency, with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A good understanding of accounts and lease structures
- Knowledge of the trade sector and current market trends
- Awareness and understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements

Pay range and compensation package
- £60,000 - £70,000 basic salary (DOE)
- Car allowance plus business mileage, including insurance for you and one additional driver
