Job Description:
The Social Account Director defines and leads adidas' European performance social capability: the strategy, the platform structures, the catalogue architecture and the governance of automation.
Success comes from connecting social investment with broader brand and commercial objectives, and from holding a clear position on where automation adds value and where it removes control.

The role sits at Tier 1 of the Hub capability framework. That means strategic ownership of the channel, the senior client relationship on performance social, escalation authority and accountability for the outcomes of the function, not only for individual output.
The Social Account Director reports into the Performance Lead, works alongside the Search and Programmatic Channel Leads and the Brand Social Channel Lead, represents social on the Biddable Steering Committee, and leads the Pod Leads, Managers and core buying team who deliver activation day to day. Support comes from Audience Insights and Operations, Data, Analytics and Reporting, and Media Operations, Platforms and Governance.
Skills And Experience:
- Extensive experience working in paid social planning and activation, including experience leading a channel or a team
- Experience with biddable, performance focused campaign planning and activation
- Expert across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat & Pinterest buying, including catalogue & dynamic product formats
- Expert in catalogue and feed management, with practical DataFeedWatch or equivalent experience
- Confident assessing platform automation such as ASC+: where they add value & where they add risk
- Experience of forecasting, and of setting and defending ROAS or cost of sale targets, experience designing or interpreting incrementality tests
- Working knowledge of Smartly or comparable social automation tooling. Knowledge of Search & Programmatic a bonus
- Demonstrable passion and knowledge of third party tracking and technologies
- Team management experience and a passion for developing people
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects at once
- Able to manage the competing interests of client and markets in a culturally sensitive manner
- Excellent numerical skills and confidence analysing data using Excel
- Excellent communication and listening skills & responsive to feedback
- Strong spoken and written English. Ability to speak other European languages is desired, but not essential
