We are recruiting for a Associate Director, Private Markets Portfolio Management to join our Private Markets Portfolio Management team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in public or private markets investment who enjoys analysing opportunities, shaping investment strategy and supporting disciplined portfolio management across debt and equity investments. Reporting to a Portfolio Manager, you’ll work closely with clients, portfolio management and origination teams to support capital deployment and help deliver strong outcomes for investors.
Join a high-performing Portfolio Management team at the centre of Aviva Investors’ Private Markets business. Managing c.£7bn across pooled funds and segregated mandates, the team plays a key role in shaping investment strategy, allocating capital and delivering client outcomes within a platform managing almost £50bn of private market assets. You’ll gain exposure across real estate, infrastructure, private corporate credit and structured finance private market strategies, with the opportunity to make a tangible impact from day one.

A bit about the role:
- In this role, you’ll play an active part in managing multi-asset private markets portfolios, evaluating new investment opportunities and supporting portfolio construction decisions that meet client objectives.
- You’ll contribute to investment strategy through market insight, relative value analysis and innovative solutions to emerging client needs, while partnering with origination teams on transaction assessment, execution and capital deployment.
- You’ll also support client engagement, product development, governance and investor reporting, helping to deliver high-quality outputs and strong risk-adjusted returns for investors.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience in a public or private markets investment role, with exposure to investment analysis, portfolio management or investment decision-making.
- Strong analytical, commercial and financial markets awareness, with the ability to assess investment opportunities and apply portfolio construction and risk management principles.
- Excellent quantitative and financial modelling skills, including advanced Excel capabilities; experience with Bloomberg, Aladdin and AI-enabled tools would be advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with colleagues, investors and senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised, proactive and collaborative, with strong attention to detail and a desire to learn, develop and contribute to a high-performing team.
In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
