Associate Director – Quantum Analyst
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantum Analyst / Quantum Consultant to join an established and growing disputes and expert consultancy team at Associate Director level.
The role would suit someone with a strong background in construction quantum analysis, commercial management and disputes, who is looking to take on greater responsibility across complex, high-value projects and develop their career within a specialist expert consultancy environment.
Although the team is London-based, the role can be performed from anywhere in the UK, provided you are comfortable travelling to the London office approximately 2–4 times per month and as required for client meetings and project needs.
The Role
As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in delivering quantum and commercial analysis on a range of complex construction and engineering disputes. You will work closely with senior colleagues, legal teams, contractors, developers and other project stakeholders, providing robust commercial advice and supporting the preparation of expert reports and dispute strategies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking quantum analysis and assessment across construction and engineering disputes.
- Preparing detailed quantum reports, assessments and supporting documentation.
- Analysing project costs, variations, loss and expense, disruption, prolongation and other heads of claim.
- Reviewing and interpreting contracts, payment records, valuations, accounts and project documentation.
- Assessing entitlement and quantum in relation to contractual claims.
- Working with solicitors, barristers, contractors, developers and other professional advisers.
- Supporting expert witness appointments, including the preparation of reports and schedules of quantum.
- Assisting with mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation matters.
- Managing elements of projects and taking responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of work.
- Reviewing and mentoring the work of more junior team members.
- Building strong relationships with existing clients and helping develop new client opportunities.
- Contributing to business development, bids and proposals.
- Representing the business at client meetings, industry events and other relevant forums.

Experience Required
We are looking for an experienced construction professional with a strong grounding in quantity surveying / commercial management, who has subsequently developed significant experience within quantum, disputes or expert consultancy. You are likely to have:
- Significant experience working within construction disputes, quantum consultancy or commercial claims.
- A strong Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management background.
- Experience dealing with complex construction claims and high-value projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles.
- Experience with areas such as variations, disruption, prolongation, loss and expense, valuation and final accounts.
- Experience producing or contributing to quantum reports and expert documentation.
- Ideally, experience working on adjudication, arbitration and/or litigation matters.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
- The confidence to engage with clients, lawyers and senior project stakeholders.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior consultants.

Location & Flexibility
The core team is based in London, however, the business is open to candidates being based elsewhere in the UK. The expectation is that you will attend the London office approximately 2–4 times per month, alongside travel for client meetings, hearings, site visits and other business requirements where necessary.
Package
Competitive salary between £90,000 - £120,000 DOE & level and benefits package, dependent on experience, with genuine flexibility around location and working arrangements.
