Milltown Partners

Our clients operate at the frontiers of innovation - we advise technology companies driving change, global investors funding the future, the giants of sport and entertainment, and influential individuals on the communications and policy challenges that define their reputations. Our work spans corporate and financial communications, policy and public affairs to engage regulators and policymakers, policy communications and leadership communications. We underpin the full breadth of our capabilities with research-driven insights and campaigns. We're also pioneering AI-enhanced advisory work for both our clients and internal innovation, using technology to unlock insights from data at unprecedented scale and speed.

The role

Our Associate Directors are experienced communications leaders who combine real advisory authority with a genuine appetite to keep developing – working alongside senior leaders to deliver exceptional client work and grow their own leadership capabilities.

Your work could span AI companies defining responsible innovation, investors backing the next generation of technology, sports franchises building global audiences, and leaders whose decisions shape industries. The clients are category-defining. The challenges are complex. The standards are uncompromising.

You'll lead client relationships, shape strategic direction, and ensure the work your teams deliver consistently meets the highest standards. This is a hands-on role. You'll advise clients directly and play an active part in delivering work alongside your teams, not just directing from a distance. Beyond client delivery, you'll build your external network, contribute to new business opportunities, and support the development of colleagues at earlier stages of their careers.

What you'll do

Lead client work

You'll take strategic responsibility for our clients’ most important communications challenges, whether that's navigating policy debates, preparing for major announcements, or protecting reputation when stakes are highest. You'll build the trust that lets you deliver genuinely impactful advice, drawing on the full resources of the firm to help clients build and defend their reputations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
