Your Role
At the intersection of clinical operations, data science, and strategic decision-making, this role offers a rare opportunity to shape how data-driven insights directly influence Phase I–III clinical trial design across a global portfolio. Reporting to the Head of the Operational Design Center, you will orchestrate the end-to-end delivery of analytical insights that improve the accuracy of study timelines, sharpen cost projections, and reduce decision latency for study teams worldwide.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Partner closely with study teams, contract research organizations (CROs), and cross-functional stakeholders to define key business questions, translate complex analytical outputs into concrete operational options, and guide evidence-based decision-making.
- Lead the prioritisation of analytical resources, manage workload scheduling across concurrent projects, and drive process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and fit-for-purpose nature of operational design services.
- Work in close collaboration with strategy, data science, and technical teams to contribute to the evolution of existing analytics capabilities and help shape novel approaches to address emerging stakeholder needs.
- Play an active role in developing the Operational Design Center’s strategy and future vision, evaluating new vendors, and maintaining a current understanding of the clinical trial landscape to leverage advances in feasibility planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
