Associate Director, Real Estate Finance
We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Real Estate Finance.
Real Estate Finance is a specialist team with primary responsibility for relationships involving Commercial Real Estate investors and developers. Our adopted strategy of ‘by Professionals, to Professionals’ results in our customer portfolios being comprised of professional operators and market leaders in their sectors. Real Estate is a key market for the UK economy and a material contributor to UK Commercial Banking. It brings together the fundamental skills of relationship management, large corporate lending, risk management and partner engagement, with the added complexity of a highly political and cyclical property industry.

In this role you’ll:
- Support the Relationship Director (RD) with holistic relationship management with accountability for business development, service, risk and operational delivery.
- Focus on supporting transaction structuring and forming Heads of Terms
- Seek new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to identify new business opportunities ensuring the focus is on growing the business sustainably
- Manage regulatory and reputational risk, ensure business adherence throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk
- Build a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
- Manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of Real Estate Finance
- Broad knowledge of UK Commercial Banking structures, products and services and systems
- Knowledge and understanding of the economic and market environment with an ability to demonstrate how this impacts HSBC real estate business/future proposition
- Experience of commercial risk management and processes
- An awareness of the changing economic, social and governmental environment and industries/sectors in the UK along with some knowledge of international business and various industry sectors
- Client focused experience in a Commercial or Corporate Banking environment
- Experience of the commercial lending journey
