Ofqual is the independent qualifications regulator for England. We currently regulate 200+ awarding organisations, and approximately 11,600 certified qualifications. These include GCSEs, AS and A levels, and a broad range of vocational and technical qualifications.
For more information about what we do please visit: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/ofqual
Qualifications shape lives. Ofqual exists to secure public confidence in the exams and assessments that open doors for students and apprentices across England. We're looking for an experienced strategic communicator to help us deliver on that mission, and to help strengthen the awarding organisation market that sits at the heart of the qualifications system.
This is a rare role that combines two distinct but connected challenges. You'll lead the development and delivery of strategic communications campaigns that support Ofqual's most high-profile priorities, from public-facing work that builds trust in qualifications, to campaigns that address areas of non-compliance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
