Our Team, Your Impact
The Associate Director – Strategic Sourcing ‘Business Development’ is responsible for defining and leading sourcing strategies and execution across assigned External Manufacturing (EXM) Business Development portfolio and R&D pipeline opportunities, in alignment with Procurement Category Management, Teva’s EXM, BD and R&D organizations. This role is accountable for delivering enterprise value through strategic supplier selection, commercial optimization, and disciplined sourcing practices.
Reporting to the Procurement Director – BD, this role operates as a strategic sourcing leader, owning the translation of business needs and category strategies into sourcing approaches in the business development and pipeline context, while influencing senior stakeholders to align on sourcing decisions and outcomes. The Associate Director drives both sourcing strategy and execution, ensuring sourcing initiatives deliver sustainable value, mitigate risk, and strengthen supplier performance.
This role plays a critical part in advancing procurement maturity by establishing best-in-class sourcing practices, delivering organizational capability, and embedding structured, data-driven decision-making across the BD sourcing landscape.

How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Define and lead sourcing strategies for assigned EXM business development opportunities, R&D programs, suppliers, and strategic initiatives.
- Own the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, including market assessment, RFx processes, supplier evaluation, negotiations, contracting, and supplier selection.
- Translate business requirements and market intelligence into sourcing solutions that optimize cost, quality, capacity, service, and risk.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations involving pricing models, capacity commitments, long-term supply agreements, in-licensing opportunities, and CDMO engagements.
- Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to develop and execute contracts that align with commercial and operational objectives.
- Deliver measurable value through cost savings, cost avoidance, supply resilience, innovation, and working capital improvements.
- Develop supplier strategies based on market trends, supplier capabilities, capacity insights, and commercial considerations.
- Drive supplier performance and governance in collaboration with Alliance Management, and EXM teams.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate sourcing risks while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to BD, R&D, EXM, and Procurement stakeholders on sourcing strategy and supplier decisions.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Legal teams to enable successful sourcing outcomes.
- Contribute to procurement capability development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion data-driven decision making, sourcing excellence, and procurement transformation efforts.
- Support Corporate BD in selected M&A Due Diligence processes.

Your Skills And Experience
Experience & Expertise
- Significant experience in strategic sourcing and contracting, including defining sourcing strategies and leading complex negotiations, preferably in a BD or R&D context.
- Ideally experience in Due Diligence Processes in a M&A context, gained in a Big Four company.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable value and leading high-impact sourcing initiatives.
- Experience operating in External Manufacturing and/or regulated CDMO industries (pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives.

EDUCATION
- Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.
Location
This role can be executed from any Teva Europe location, except for Switzerland and France.
