Associate Director - Tax Disputes & Investigations
Big 4 | UK | £65,000 - £85,000 + Bonus & Benefits
A leading Big 4 firm is looking to appoint an Associate Director within its Tax Disputes & Investigations team, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax investigations professional looking to take the next step in their career.
This role would suit someone with strong experience across HMRC investigations, COP8/COP9, tax disputes and complex enquiries, who wants to combine technical expertise with client management, leadership and business development.
The Role
- Lead complex HMRC investigations and tax disputes
- Manage COP8 and COP9 enquiries
- Advise clients throughout HMRC enquiries and settlement negotiations
- Manage senior client relationships and key stakeholders
- Support business development and identify new opportunities
- Work closely with Partners and senior members of the team
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Tax Disputes & Investigations practice

About You
- Experience within Tax Investigations, Tax Disputes or Tax Controversy
- Strong experience managing HMRC enquiries
- COP8/COP9 experience highly desirable
- Strong UK tax technical knowledge
- Confident dealing with clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience managing, mentoring or leading others
- Commercially minded with an interest in business development
- Ex-HMRC experience would be highly advantageous
