Associate Director - Technology M&A
We are working with a leading global consultancy to recruit an Associate Director into its Technology M&A practice, supporting private equity investors and corporate clients across the full deal lifecycle, from pre-deal due diligence through to value creation and post-deal execution.
Role Overview
The role will involve leading technology due diligence across IT, technology infrastructure, product and software, AI and data, and cybersecurity. You will assess technology capabilities, identify deal risks, evaluate scalability and investment requirements, and translate findings into clear commercial implications to support investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technology due diligence across various domains.
- Assess technology capabilities and identify deal risks.
- Evaluate scalability and investment requirements.
- Translate findings into clear commercial implications.
- Focus on technology value creation, identifying and quantifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and drive growth.
- Analyse IT cost bases, software licensing, infrastructure, third-party suppliers, and technology operating models.
- Develop financial cases and identify opportunities to leverage AI, data, and automation.
- Lead post-deal readiness and execution, translating due diligence findings into actionable plans and ensuring value creation opportunities are realised.
- This includes Day 1 and Day 100 planning, technology integration and separation, transformation delivery, and tracking financial benefits against agreed objectives.

- Work closely with investors, C-suite executives, and portfolio company leadership teams.
- Lead project teams, manage senior client relationships, and contribute to business development and the growth of the practice.
Requirements
- Experience in technology M&A, transaction services, deal advisory, or technology consulting.
- Demonstrable expertise in technology due diligence, value creation, and post-deal execution.
- Strong technology knowledge combined with commercial acumen, financial analysis skills.
- Ability to connect technology decisions to measurable business outcomes.
- Experience across private equity and corporate transactions, and ownership of the full deal lifecycle, from due diligence through to Day 100, would be particularly valuable.
