Associate Director, Technology & Engineering

Build something meaningful at Zebra People.

We are looking for an experienced technology recruiter to lead the continued growth of our established Technology & Engineering practice.

This is a senior, hands-on opportunity for someone who knows the market, can win and deliver high-quality work, and wants the freedom to shape and grow a successful practice, with the backing of an experienced team and wider international recruitment group.

You will build on strong foundations, including established PSL relationships, an existing network of start-up, scale-up and enterprise clients across the UK, US and Europe, and experience delivering both traditional recruitment and embedded talent solutions.

Working closely with the Directors, you will lead the proposition and go-to-market strategy, develop relationships with senior technology leaders and grow our network across software engineering and technology leadership. As the practice develops, you will also have the opportunity to build and lead your own team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the continued growth of Zebra People’s Technology & Engineering practice
  • Building on our existing client relationships, PSLs and international network
  • Developing a clear, distinctive proposition and taking it to market
  • Winning new permanent, contract and embedded recruitment business
  • Building trusted relationships with CTOs, CIOs, engineering leaders and talent teams
  • Remaining hands-on across business development, recruitment and delivery
  • Growing a strong network across technology leadership and software engineering
  • Using market insight and data to identify opportunities and advise clients
  • Using our contemporary recruitment technology stack, which we continually review and develop, to improve research, sourcing, insight and productivity
  • Using AI and automation thoughtfully, while recognising the importance of human judgement, relationships and genuine market knowledge
  • Contributing to Zebra Talks Tech and other events that bring together our technology community
  • Building and developing a high-performing team as the practice grows
  • Working across Zebra People and the wider HW Group to create new opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
