Are you looking for your next challenge with an established but growing Architectural practice? Are you wanting more from your current role that your existing employer cannot offer? If so, we have a great opportunity for an Associate Director (Architecture) to join a newly formed studio, for a business with over 30 years of experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a national architectural practice with an established history, strong reputation, and growing UK presence, while playing a key role in developing a new Birmingham studio. Flexible working hours are on offer.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the studio from an early stage, building new client relationships, developing work across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, and contributing to the growth of the local team and project portfolio.

The role offers significant autonomy and influence, backed by the resources, expertise, and support of a practice of more than 75 people and 7 regional offices. This is a long-term appointment, with a clear opportunity for future progression to Partner for the right individual.

The Associate Role involves the following:

  • Business Development
  • Project Delivery

Project sectors with values from £1m to £20m:

  • Education
  • Restoration & Heritage
  • Residential
  • Healthcare
  • Commercial

Qualities and Qualifications required:

  • Currently be operating at a senior level
  • Have at least 5 years' post-qualification experience
  • Have led multiple projects across a range of project types and sizes
  • Have recent experience of working within the UK
  • Have good design skills and a track record of project success in relevant sectors
  • Be ambitious and keen to hold a strategic position within the business
  • Have a good understanding of BIM and Revit
  • Demonstrate experience of managing a team and working as part of a larger team
  • Show exceptional attention to detail
  • Evidence exemplary customer service

The package will include commission linked to the introduction and conversion of new clients and opportunities, rewarding the successful candidate for their contribution to the Practice’s growth. Alongside business development, the role will provide the opportunity to lead high-quality projects, represent your employer within the regional property and construction community, mentor developing team members, and help establish the culture and identity of our Birmingham studio.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for the right individual to quickly progress to running a Studio and help drive the future of the whole business forward with the full support of the current Partners. There is a clear succession plan and progression to Partner for the right individual.
