This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of online education at Warwick. Rather than managing an established portfolio, you will play a leading role in establishing and scaling a major strategic initiative, helping to design and deliver the operational framework that underpins high-quality online education. Working across faculties, professional services teams and external partners, you will drive service excellence throughout the student lifecycle, build effective partnerships, and support the development of a scalable and sustainable model for online programme delivery. The role offers significant scope to influence institutional strategy, operational transformation and the future direction of Warwick's online education provision.
About You
You will be a strategic and collaborative leader with significant experience of programme development, curriculum design and academic delivery within higher education. Passionate about online and digital learning, you will have a strong understanding of academic governance, quality assurance and student success, alongside the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across complex organisations. Combining strategic thinking with practical delivery, you will be confident leading multidisciplinary teams, driving innovation and managing change to deliver high-quality educational outcomes. Most importantly, you will be motivated by the opportunity to shape and grow Warwick's online education portfolio, contributing to the University's long-term ambitions for academic excellence, global reach and sustainable growth.

About The Department
The Flexible and Online Learning Division is at the forefront of Warwick's ambition to expand access to world-class education through innovative online learning. Within the Division, the newly established Online Programme Unit (OPU) operates as a strategic and operational hub for the University's growing online portfolio, initially focused on postgraduate taught programmes.

As a brand-new unit, the OPU offers a rare opportunity to help shape its direction, culture and ways of working from the outset. The Unit provides strategic leadership and governance for Warwick's online programme portfolio, ensuring that academic quality, market demand, financial sustainability and institutional priorities are aligned. It also coordinates the development, delivery and performance of online programmes, bringing together academic departments, professional services and external partners to create an outstanding student experience.
Working at the centre of a major institutional growth initiative, the OPU collaborates closely with colleagues across Faculties, Central Finance, Education Operations, IDG and other professional services teams.
