Associate Director - Workplace (TRAD)

Lead a new direction in high-end workplace interiors, creating contemporary spaces and shaping the future of a respected design studio.

Position

An opportunity for an Associate Director to help shape a new direction for workplace interiors. The focus is on design-led, high-end contemporary spaces for clients in luxury fashion, law, and investment banking, alongside boutique private offices. These projects call for a distinctive approach to workplace design, with exceptional materials, custom joinery, and careful attention to detail.

Working alongside the Studio Director, you will set the creative direction for large-scale projects, lead teams of ten or more, and guide the work from concept through delivery. You will build strong client relationships, including with high-net-worth individuals, mentor designers, and contribute to new business opportunities.

Candidate

• An architectural or interior architecture background, with a strong focus on interiors
• Extensive experience leading workplace projects, including large-scale schemes
• The creative ability to bring architecture and interiors together in a compelling concept
• A thorough understanding of how design ideas are detailed, coordinated, and built
• A portfolio demonstrating sensitivity to materials, resolved detailing, strong spatial thinking, and an understanding of how people experience a space
• A genuine interest in craftsmanship, high-specification materials, and bespoke joinery
• Experience leading and mentoring teams
• Confidence managing demanding clients and maintaining strong industry relationships
• The ability to balance creative leadership with programme, team, and project management
• Knowledge of Vectorworks and Rhino/Enscape, with an understanding of how Revit is used on increasingly complex projects
• Workplace contacts and experience contributing to pitches or winning new business would be advantageous
