Associate / Senior CDM & Principal Designer

Leeds | Hybrid Working
Salary: £65,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

Carriera is working exclusively with an established multi-disciplinary construction consultancy to appoint a Senior Principal Designer looking for their next steps to Associate, or an already proven Associate director looking to make a big difference and be an instrumental part of their growing Leeds team.

With a long-standing reputation for providing pragmatic, commercially aware advice, the consultancy works closely with clients across a diverse range of construction and property projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CDM professional looking for a role offering autonomy, client exposure, and long-term progression.

The Role

You'll provide a combination of Principal Designer, CDM Advisory, and construction health & safety services, working directly with clients and project teams across a varied portfolio. You'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering Principal Designer and CDM advisory services in accordance with CDM 2015.
  • Leading design risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Providing practical health & safety advice to clients, designers, and contractors.
  • Undertaking site inspections, audits, and contractor engagement.
  • Managing your own projects and client relationships from inception through to completion.
  • Producing high-quality technical reports and project documentation.
  • Managing multiple projects and prioritizing workloads effectively.
  • Supporting clients with Building Regulations Principal Designer requirements where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
