Our client is an independent, employee-focused building consultancy with a reputation for delivering high-quality technical advice across the built environment.
Their Structural Engineering team works on a diverse range of projects, from new-build developments to complex investigations, structural remediation and expert technical consultancy. Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage complex structural engineering projects from initial instruction through to completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Undertake structural assessments, investigations and technical reviews.
- Deliver holistic structural engineering consultancy advice to commercial developer and institutional investor clients.
- Deliver innovative solutions for structural remediation following fire, flooding, subsidence, impact damage and structural defects.
- Carry out and oversee structural surveys, defect investigations and forensic engineering assessments.
- Produce high-quality technical reports and engineering advice.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and promoting the companies in-house technical expertise.
- Support the continuous development of technical standards and best practice across the business.
- Represent the client through presentations, technical papers, industry events and professional networking.

Skills and behaviour
- Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE).
- Demonstrable experience successfully leading and managing projects while acting as the primary client interface.
- Broad structural engineering experience covering both new-build and refurbishment projects.
- Significant experience in structural remediation, including projects arising from fire, flooding, subsidence, structural defects and damage investigations.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis principles and engineering behaviour.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to business growth.
- A personable, approachable and supportive leadership style.
- Passion for mentoring and developing high-performing technical teams.
