Job Title: Driver
Location: Birmingham CLC
Summary of Role
Join our healthcare logistics operation as a Driver and play an important role in ensuring the safe, secure, and timely delivery of products, materials, and medical samples. You will help maintain service excellence by completing collections and deliveries efficiently while ensuring compliance with transportation, handling, and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled collections and deliveries in line with service requirements and timelines.
- Verify shipment information and ensure all transport documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate transport records.
- Transport products, materials, and medical samples in accordance with route plans and applicable regulations.
- Communicate delivery updates, delays, and shipment issues to support timely resolution.
- Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and labelling activities.
- Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance requirements promptly.
- Support specialist transport activities, including transfer-point, airport, hand-to-hand, and adjusted schedule assignments as required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Full valid driving licence appropriate to the role.
- Strong understanding of safe driving and transportation practices.
- Ability to follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail when completing documentation and records.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to excellent service.
- Knowledge of health and safety and transportation compliance requirements.

Desirable
- Previous experience within a logistics, distribution, or healthcare environment.
- Experience transporting regulated, sensitive, or temperature-controlled products.
- Familiarity with electronic proof of delivery systems.
- Understanding of transportation and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting specialist or time-critical deliveries.
- Knowledge of vehicle inspection and basic maintenance checks.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role.
- Flexibility to support varying routes and operational requirements.

Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
- Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required.
- Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.
