About CISES
The Centre for International Security and Economic Strategy (CISES) is an independent, London-based think tank dedicated to examining the complex intersection of global security, geopolitics, and economic policy.
In an era of rapid shifts in the international order, CISES delivers rigorous, evidence-based insight into global risk, regional crises, and emerging strategic challenges. By bridging the gap between rigorous academic analysis and practical policy debate, we empower policymakers, researchers, and the public with the tools needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
With our digital footprint continuing to expand—having published over 350 research outputs, built a community of more than 13,000 followers, and reached over 1 million views across our website and digital platforms—we are seeking 4 new Associate Editors to strengthen the Editorial team and help us ensure the quality of content published across CISES platforms.

About the position:
As an Associate Editor you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing policy articles submitted by our policy analysts in collaboration with visual designers and program directors.
- Improving the flow, clarity, grammar, and overall readability of publications.
- Performing research and fact-checking on topics.
- Checking formatting according to CISES editorial standards.
- Flagging concerns where submissions fall below expected standards (e.g. AI generated content)
Requirements:
Essential:
- Able to meet a minimum monthly output of 10 edited pieces.
- Strong command of English grammar, style, and structure.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical reading skills.
- Be comfortable working with serious policy content and giving constructive editorial feedback.
- Candidates must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision, have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work remotely in an uninterrupted environment.

Desirable:
- Experience editing academic, policy, or long-form analytical writing
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Political Science, Economics, Journalism, Public Policy, etc.) preferred
- Previous experience in academia or at a think tank
