Associate Electrical Engineer – Building Services
We’re recruiting an Associate Electrical Engineer to take responsibility for electrical design projects, supervise engineers, and help develop client relationships within a building services consultancy.
You’ll manage projects from initial surveys and feasibility studies through detailed design, tendering, construction, and commissioning. The position combines hands-on design with team supervision, project coordination, and commercial responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Leading electrical building services design on allocated projects.
- Preparing technical specifications, calculations, reports, and budget estimates.
- Attending client, design team, and contractor meetings.
- Reviewing tenders and contractors’ drawings, and resolving technical queries.
- Monitoring installations on site, preparing snagging schedules, and witnessing testing and commissioning.
- Supervising electrical design engineers and identifying development needs.
- Managing project resources, deadlines, and financial performance.
- Maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities for further work.

Requirements
- Strong experience in electrical building services design.
- Experience managing projects through design and construction.
- The ability to supervise engineers and review technical work.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and contractors.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage workloads, fees, and deadlines.
