Associate Electrical Engineer - London
Location: London
Salary: £65,000 - 85,000 + Package benefits
Job Description
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with an international engineering and design consultancy to support the continued growth of their M&E team, with a particular focus on data centre projects.
We are seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to take a key role in the delivery of electrical engineering solutions across complex data centre projects. This position would suit an experienced electrical engineer looking to take greater technical ownership, contribute to project delivery, and work closely with clients, project teams, and other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Lead and take technical ownership of electrical engineering packages across data centre projects, from concept and detailed design through to construction and commissioning.
- Work closely with Lead Engineers, project managers, clients, and wider project teams to develop electrical designs that meet project requirements, programme, budget, and applicable standards.
- Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, calculations, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate electrical services with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated and coordinated designs.
- Utilize BIM and 3D modelling software, including Revit, to develop and coordinate electrical installations and ensure design accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical input during design reviews, workshops, and project meetings, clearly communicating design solutions and resolving technical issues.
- Review designs and deliverables produced by other engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring appropriate quality and compliance.
- Support the development of less experienced engineers, sharing technical knowledge, and helping to maintain high standards across the team.
- Liaise with contractors and site teams during construction to resolve design queries, technical issues, and variations, ensuring solutions are delivered in line with project requirements.
- Contribute to client-facing discussions and help build strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with relevant electrical engineering standards, regulations, industry developments, and data centre best practice.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, specifications, calculations, drawings, and other documentation required for project delivery.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, design standards, and technical delivery across the team.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, sustainability, and technical excellence throughout all stages of project delivery.

Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Significant relevant electrical engineering experience within the construction, building services, or engineering consultancy sector.
- Previous experience working on data centre projects is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services and their application within complex, mission-critical environments.
- Experience using Revit and/or CAD within an engineering design environment.
- Experience coordinating electrical designs with other engineering disciplines.
- Previous experience reviewing technical work and/or providing guidance to junior engineers would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, technical delivery, and project coordination.
