ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role is an Associate role in the employment team. Reporting to Tessa Harris, the Employment Law Director, the responsibilities will be as follows (please note that these are not exhaustive, but comprise the core duties):
New Enquiries
- Using the firm’s CRM system to process enquiries
- Promptly contacting select enquiries to the firm to discuss their requirements
- Processing the enquiries and quoting as applicable
- Obtaining documents from potential clients and placing them on the relevant file on the firm’s document management system
- Acting as the ‘point of contact’ for new enquiries to ensure smooth onboarding
- Liaising with core admin team re enquiries
- Assessing No Win No Fee suitability
Case Handling
- Drafting retainers for new clients through the CRM system
- Receiving new client instructions, file opening and closing
- Using the firm’s practice management system (Clio) and CRM (Lawmatics)
- Managing a caseload of between 20 and 25 live files (a mixture of contentious and non-contentious matters)
- Billing on average 3 to 5 hours per day
- Assisting when necessary on matters owned by senior Lawyers within the firm

Internal
- Assisting, when applicable, with training new employees on our processes and procedures
- Assisting with marketing, including drafting/assistance with articles, for Redmans website and external publications
- Invoicing for billable work
- Debt collecting
- Input on operational processes
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 1 to 4 years PQE (Solicitor or Cilex)
- Ideal candidates will have practical employment law experience, particularly on non-contentious matters, including advising on settlement agreements
- Ambitious and driven to promote oneself to build their own caseload and bill accordingly
- Right to work in the UK (not offering sponsorship)
- Willingness to learn and contribute to driving Redmans Solicitors forward
- Comfortable working in a fully remote position

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
- Experience of dealing with unfair dismissal, constructive unfair dismissal and wrongful dismissal cases
- Knowledge of the law relating to the above areas of law
- Experience in advising on settlement agreements
- Experience of providing basic advice on employment-related discrimination cases (including, but not limited to, disability discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment, race discrimination, and age discrimination)
- Knowledge and experience of Employment Tribunal practice and procedure
- The ability to critically analyse documents and witness evidence put forward by potential clients and clients, to evaluate their potential claims
- Experience in managing a caseload of above 15 cases at one time
- Determination to thrive in a remote working environment
