R&D Partners is seeking an Associate Engineer to join a dynamic System Development Integration team within R&D at a leading pharmaceutical company. This role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of IVD instrumentation platform hardware, assisting with hardware troubleshooting, system testing, and integration activities. As a vital communication bridge between hardware engineers and assay scientists, your contributions will directly impact the development of reliable, high-performance point-of-care medical diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute full system testing on IVD instrumentation platform hardware in alignment with project goals.
  • Act as a technical liaison between hardware engineers (electronics, software, mechanical, optics) and assay scientists.
  • Analyze technical data using tools such as Excel, Minitab, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW to deliver clear, data-driven findings.
  • Assist in technical investigations and hardware troubleshooting in laboratory environments.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including test protocols, investigation logs, and reports, ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory standards, including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, EN 60601, and EN 61010.
  • Propose continuous improvements for test protocols and methodologies based on real-world testing insights.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Foundational experience in product development, technical support, or laboratory test environments.
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of engineering disciplines (electronics, software, mechanical, or optical engineering) with hands-on troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Minitab, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with medical device or IVD regulatory standards (ISO 13485, ISO 14971) is highly advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and analytical problem-solver with strong communication and time management skills.
