Associate Enterprise Architect
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Enterprise Architect.
This role is designed as a pathway into enterprise architecture. You’ll work closely with experienced architects, receive coaching from the Lead Enterprise Architect and gain practical exposure to portfolio management, strategy, architecture tooling and governance. As your capability develops, you will take greater ownership of architecture analysis, stakeholder engagement, roadmap development and governance activities.
You’ll support the Lead Enterprise Architect in managing HSBC UK’s application and technology portfolio across brands and business areas, contributing to technology strategies, roadmaps, governance, risk tracking and application rationalisation. It offers broad exposure to how business strategy, technology, data, security, regulation and governance connect within a major bank. You’ll need to have a professional technical background and banking or financial services experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a genuine commitment to developing a long-term career in enterprise architecture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
