Role Overview
Background & Credentials
- Experience in coaching technical professionals at a high-growth tech company
- ICF (International Coach Federation) PCC or MCC certification
- Formal training in organisational psychology or systems coaching, plus exposure to AI latest thinking and application so the technical context doesn't need to be over-explained (nice to have)
- Track record coaching within Fortune 500 tech, finance, or industrial R&D organizations - comfortable with matrixed orgs, compliance constraints, and multi-stakeholder politics

- Technical fluency: Awareness of AI, system design, tech debt trade-offs, and why engineers distrust vague corporate-speak - enough to build credibility fast and follow the conversation
- Behavioural and leadership assessment tools: awareness of instruments like Hogan, MBTI, DiSC, or 360-degree feedback interpretation
- Career-stage versatility: able to coach a first-time engineering manager navigating people management, and a Director-level leader managing other managers - each requires a different lens
- Conflict and stakeholder navigation: skilled at helping engineers manage up to non-technical executives, negotiate scope with product, and handle cross-functional friction
- Systems thinking: looks beyond the individual to team dynamics, incentive structures, and organisational design - recognises when the "problem" isn't the person but the environment
