The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Associate, External Communications to support Hamilton Lane's PR and communications efforts across EMEA and APAC. This role will execute day-to-day media relations, content development and reporting across both regions, working closely with regional leadership and the global Corporate Communications team to protect and elevate Hamilton Lane's brand and reputation. This is an opportunity to build a strong foundation in financial and private markets communications while gaining exposure to a broad range of markets, media outlets and stakeholders across two dynamic regions.
Key Responsibilities
Media & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain day-to-day relationships with regional media contacts across EMEA and APAC.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media pitches and by-lined articles tailored to regional audiences.
- Respond to inbound media inquiries and coordinate interview logistics and briefing materials for spokespeople.
- Support the identification and coordination of speaking opportunities and conference participation for regional spokespeople.

Content & Messaging Support
- Draft and edit press materials, talking points, Q&As and executive briefing documents in line with global messaging and brand guidelines.
- Support localization and cultural tailoring of content for diverse EMEA and APAC markets.
- Collaborate with global and regional Marketing and Communications colleagues to ensure consistent narratives across markets and platforms.
Monitoring, Reporting & Insights
- Monitor daily media coverage, industry trends and competitor activity across EMEA and APAC.
- Compile media clip reports, coverage summaries and PR performance metrics for regional leadership.
- Flag emerging issues or reputational risks to senior team members and support crisis communications preparation as needed.
Project & Agency Coordination
- Coordinate with external PR agencies and vendors supporting EMEA and APAC initiatives.
- Manage timelines, logistics and follow-up for media initiatives, announcements and events.
- Maintain and update media lists, press materials and content archives for both regions.
- Support budget tracking and administrative needs for regional PR initiatives.
Must-haves
Your background will include:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and cultures spanning EMEA and APAC.
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in financial services, professional services, or private markets communications.
- Familiarity with media monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater).
- Additional language skills relevant to EMEA or APAC markets.
- Experience supporting executive-level or C-suite communications.
