CQS/Manulife Associate Role

CQS/Manulife is looking for an Associate-level front office role supporting the Multi Asset Credit desk across the financial asset class facilitating Trade execution, Asset class market colour, capital markets / syndicate relationships, portfolio monitoring, and risk controls.

Position Responsibilities

  • Trade execution and order communication: Support PM order communication, broker interaction, and execution workflow across credit instruments, ensuring orders are clear, compliant with mandate restrictions, and booked accurately and on time.
  • Portfolio and desk support: Monitor cash, exposures, risk limits, P&L drivers, liquidity, and relative value opportunities.
  • Financial analysis and research support: Assist with issuer modelling, sector updates, credit notes, earnings reviews, and meeting preparation.
  • Risk and control culture: Identify, assess, and escalate risks across the trade life cycle, including pre-trade checks, restrictions, settlement issues, market events, documentation, and operational exceptions.
  • Corporate actions and documentation: Support the identification, verification, and analysis of corporate actions, amendments, tenders, restructurings, and other idiosyncratic credit events where relevant to MAC portfolios.
  • External relationships: Maintain professional relationships with sell-side salespeople, traders, and research contacts, while ensuring information flows and any wall-crossed / MNPI matters are handled appropriately.
  • Process improvement: Contribute to more robust desk processes, monitoring tools, trade workflow, issue logs, and repeatable reporting for MAC portfolios.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience within investment banking, capital markets, buy-side investment firms, trading, or investment research.

Referenced Salary Location

Working Arrangement: In Office

Salary range: Expected to be between £52,000.00 GBP - £86,500.00 GBP

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
