About this role

F&S Overview

The team provides strategic thought leadership and financial discipline to inform resource allocation and support sustainable business growth.

Controllers Overview

Within F&S, the Controllers division is responsible for safeguarding BlackRock's financial integrity through accurate accounting, strong internal controls, and high-quality financial and regulatory reporting. The function oversees the recording and reporting of the firm's revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities across core finance processes, including corporate accounting, external and regulatory reporting, finance operations, and regional controller activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations. Partnering closely with Tax, Treasury, Legal, Risk, and business stakeholders, Controllers deliver disciplined execution and scalable operating infrastructure that support both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic objectives.

Financial & Prudential Reporting

Within Controllers, the Financial & Prudential Reporting (“FPR”) team delivers accurate and timely financial, statutory, and regulatory reporting for BlackRock's corporate legal entities, primarily across EMEA. The team reports results monthly under US GAAP and quarterly under IFRS, producing management accounts, board and committee materials, regulatory returns, and statutory financial statements. Through strong governance, technical expertise, and close partnership with internal stakeholders, regulators, and auditors, FPR ensures financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and effective legal entity oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently prepare financial, statutory, and prudential reporting for assigned legal entities
  • Deliver regular management reporting, presenting to entity boards as required
  • Act as a day-to-day Finance contact for legal-entity stakeholders, auditors, and internal partners
  • Engage with regional Controllers, internal Finance teams, external auditors, and other stakeholders to support reporting deliverables
  • Perform detailed variance and trend analysis and provide clear legal-entity-level commentary
  • Maintain strong internal controls, governance, and documentation to support audit reviews and regulatory requirements
  • Support prudential and capital adequacy processes, contributing to internal assessments and regulatory submissions
  • Contribute to process enhancements, standardisation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the FPR function
  • Support process documentation and incremental improvement initiatives
  • Support non-organic growth, legal-entity changes, and strategic initiatives from a reporting perspective
  • Contribute to team collaboration and close-cycle workload coverage
  • Assist with tracking reporting deadlines and regulatory submissions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
