Meta International Data Legal Attorney

In this role, you will serve as a subject matter authority on evolving privacy regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey (AMET). You will partner closely with product, policy, engineering, and compliance teams to shape how Meta navigates the global regulatory landscape, ensuring that data practices across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI products are legally sound and strategically aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide authoritative legal guidance on international data protection laws across Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, including emerging privacy frameworks and data protection requirements in these regions
  • Lead engagement with data protection authorities across Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, coordinating regulatory inquiries, audits, and enforcement proceedings in collaboration with regional legal and policy teams
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with new and evolving data protection mandates and develop mitigation strategies across various AMET jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including policy, trust and safety, and compliance to align data legal positions with broader regulatory and business objectives
  • Contribute to organizational strategy by anticipating regulatory developments in AMET markets and proactively shaping internal frameworks, policies, and governance structures
  • Communicate complex international data law issues clearly to executive leadership, product teams, and external regulators through written briefings, legal opinions, and presentations
  • Coach and provide guidance to other attorneys and legal professionals on international data legal matters, sharing expertise to build organizational capability
  • Leverage AI-integrated workflows to enhance legal research, regulatory monitoring, and cross-jurisdictional analysis at scale

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
