Associate Head of Financial Crime Operations

Package: circa £100k + bonus & benefits
Job Type: Permanent

Our client is a global fintech operating within payments, issuing, and processing. We enable businesses to deliver secure, seamless, and scalable payment experiences across multiple markets and channels.

Our Financial Crime Operations function sits at the core of our first line of defence. The team is responsible for identifying, investigating, and mitigating financial crime risks including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and sanctions breaches across a global payments portfolio. Working at scale and speed, we monitor transactions, investigate complex behavioural patterns, and protect both our customers and the wider financial ecosystem.

The function brings together specialists across transaction monitoring, fraud, AML investigations, data analytics, and operations, working closely with Compliance, Technology, Product, and Commercial teams, as well as external stakeholders including regulators, sponsor banks, and vendors.

The Role:

The Associate Head of Financial Crime Operations will act as the right hand to the Head of Financial Crime Operations, taking ownership of the day-to-day leadership and performance of core financial crime controls globally. This includes primary responsibility for Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening (payments and cardholders), and associated financial crime operational controls.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
