Newly qualified as an accountant, but realising you'd like to do something with that other than actually being an accountant? Or more experienced, but looking for a career change or something more flexible/part-time?

Northexis is a boutique consultancy selling and implementing software for planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. We work with Vena Solutions, but other software in this category includes Workday Adaptive Planning, Jedox, Anaplan and Planful - take a look at their sites to see the sort of benefits we deliver to customers.

We work with CFOs, FDs, financial controllers, and FP&A teams to improve their processes and their organisations, and we're recruiting our next associate (trainee) implementation consultant to help us achieve our goal of reliable and speedy project delivery.

The Role

When an implementation project starts, there's a kickoff meeting with the customer, where they will typically share their current planning process - mostly lots of Excel spreadsheets.

What implementation consultants do is work with the customer to understand what they've been doing until now, how they want to do things in the new software, and then set up the software to do that.

Projects vary in complexity, but consultants always need to work out the best way to achieve the customer's goals; solving problems and sometimes challenging the customer with different options.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We're looking for an associate implementation consultant to, ultimately, run all these processes independently, but to start with you'll have substantial support and training.

What You Need

We'll provide full training in the software and project approach, so you'll need to be willing to learn and develop new skills.

You'll be primarily dealing with accountants, so it is vital that you are a trained accountant, with real world experience in the office of finance. Chartered is great, but we will happily consider accountancy degrees or other qualifications.

You'll need strong Excel skills. The software we work with leverages Excel, and a core element of implementation is creating and managing formulas. You'll also be comfortable formatting Excel sheets to look professional and appealing.

These projects are a big deal for our customers, and they expect the best. You'll need:

  • Exceptional written and spoken English, and strong relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A desire to own the success of a project
  • A focus on making our customers happy
  • To be reliable and deliver timely work

The nature of the work means much of the time you'll be working configuring the software on your own, so you'll need to be comfortable with that environment and a definite self-starter.

If you have any data/database experience, that'll be useful, but it is not essential.

What We Offer

Day to day, we're a fully remote company, although we try to meet up periodically and will need to travel to customer sites in the UK every month or two.

We're happy to consider part-time (e.g. around childcare commitments) and flexible working arrangements from day 1, and offer 25 days holiday in addition to bank holidays.

As above, we'll provide full training for the successful candidate to become an implementation consultant - including the software we use, but also project methodology and budgeting, forecasting and reporting best practices.

You'll be exposed to a variety of industries and use cases, and always have a new challenge in front of you.

And you'll have the chance to shape our business and grow as we do.

Our expected salary range is £35-45k, with a little upside possibility for more experienced candidates.

Process

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, and the nature of the data we work with will require a background check.

We'll contact suitable applicants to arrange an initial phone interview.
