Associate Interior Designer

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Associate Interior Designer to join our studio. This is a pivotal role for a strong creative leader who thrives on taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion while inspiring and developing the team around them.

The ideal candidate is a true all-rounder—equally comfortable presenting creative concepts to clients, developing detailed drawing packages, managing FF&E specifications, liaising with contractors and consultants, and overseeing project delivery. You will be responsible for leading projects both creatively and operationally, ensuring design excellence is maintained at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership

  • Lead the creative vision and design direction across multiple projects.
  • Develop concepts, mood boards, material palettes, and spatial solutions.
  • Present and communicate design ideas confidently to clients and internal team, including Founder and Directors.
  • Ensure the integrity of the design vision is maintained throughout project delivery.

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage projects from briefing and concept development through to installation and completion.
  • Produce and oversee comprehensive drawing packages, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate FF&E schedules, sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationships.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Monitor project programmes, budgets, and resources to ensure successful outcomes.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and support junior designers, helping them develop both creatively and professionally.
  • Foster a collaborative studio culture where creativity, curiosity, and design excellence can flourish.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance throughout project stages.

About You

You are a confident designer with a strong portfolio that demonstrates a truly creative vision and technical expertise. You are equally passionate about great design and effective project execution.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in high-end residential or hospitality interior design.
  • Proven ability to independently lead and deliver projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience producing detailed drawing packages.
  • Extensive FF&E sourcing, specification, and procurement experience.
  • Excellent contractor, consultant, and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks or willingness to switch from AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite and Estimac/EstiPC.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
