Litigation & International Arbitration Associate (2–4 PQE)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a Litigation & International Arbitration Associate to join its highly regarded disputes team based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 2–4 years' PQE to join a leading international practice specialising in high-value, complex litigation and international arbitration matters. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced partners on significant domestic and cross-border disputes, gaining early responsibility and exposure to a broad range of contentious matters.
The team advises on disputes involving significant technical complexity, substantial sums in controversy and complex commercial issues. Associates are encouraged to develop their advocacy skills and take meaningful responsibility for their matters from an early stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on high-value and complex litigation and international arbitration matters
- Managing significant caseloads and individual workstreams under partner supervision
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, submissions, witness statements and other court and arbitral documents
- Participating in advocacy where appropriate
- Assisting with the coordination of cross-border disputes and related proceedings
- Contributing to the development and execution of case strategy
- Working on international arbitration matters and a broad range of commercial disputes
- Managing client communications and taking responsibility for day-to-day case management
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 2–4 years' PQE with relevant litigation and/or international arbitration experience
- Qualification in England & Wales or an equivalent common law jurisdiction
- Experience gained within a leading law firm
- Strong generalist experience handling disputes under English law
- Excellent legal research, drafting and written communication skills
- Experience of or exposure to EU law and/or public international law would be advantageous
- The ability to demonstrate initiative and take responsibility for matters from an early stage
- A strong academic background
- Foreign language skills would be advantageous
