Investment Funds Lawyer
We are seeking an investment funds lawyer to join our energetic and growing private investment funds team (private equity, venture capital, real estate, amongst others).
We are in early-stage growth. Our ambition is to be the ‘go-to’ mid-market funds practice in London for both UK and international fund formation, secondaries and investor representation work. This sits squarely in the Firm’s private capital strategy and has the strong backing of management.
The London senior team comprises
- Matthew Griffin (Partner) and Jeremy Bell (Senior Consultant), both previously partners in leading international funds practices
- Edward Morgan (Partner, with a real estate funds focus)
- Richard Ellis (Partner, financial services regulation)
- Vadim Romanoff (Partner, funds tax).
We also have funds practices in Luxembourg and Hong Kong.
We need to build out further our associate base and find the partner(s) of the future who will grow with us. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the partners and be encouraged to build direct relationships with clients and play a real part in growing the practice.
The work will be varied and include all aspects of fund formations (both UK and international), secondaries and investor representation work as well as pitching and business development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are looking for a lawyer with 2 to 5 years’ PQE and funds experience (but we are open to considering candidates outside of this PQE range). Prior funds experience is preferred but not essential if you are an established corporate, banking, tax or regulatory lawyer but are interested in applying your skills to funds work, come and talk to us.
Training will be both by supervision on client matters and in a structured programme. All team members will be encouraged to learn about a topic and give training, which is an ideal way to increase knowledge.
If you are interested in being part of growing the practice, you can build a career with the firm through to partnership. We do expect high commitment and high performance, but as part of that we expect and want you to have a life outside of work.
Hybrid working - We adopt a hybrid and flexible working approach, so are also open to discussion on agile working options.
