We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Associate Lecturer in Television and Film Production to join our dynamic team within the School of Film and Television.

Role Overview

As an Associate Lecturer on BA(Hons) Television and Film Production you will deliver module content and core undergraduate teaching primarily on 2nd and 3rd year delivery. Module content centres primarily on production design and art department. It is essential to have experience as a production designer or set designer on TV drama, feature film, short films and commercials. High level skills are expected in technical drawing as well as 3d visualisation, budgeting, crew management, HoD collaboration, pitching and reference decks. It would be advantageous to understand the requirements of teaching production design at 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate level.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver module content and core undergraduate teaching primarily on 2nd and 3rd year delivery.

Hours and Conditions

Hours and days worked are negotiable in advance, but in most cases Associate Lecturers commit to an agreed number of hours for a specific taught module for an entire Study Block.

Requirements

The successful candidate for this role will have:

  • A relevant educational and industry background.
  • Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of multiple aspects of production design.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills on an individual and group level.
  • Comfortable delivering content in person and through digital platforms.
  • A genuine desire to help students succeed and a willingness to offer support to achieve their full potential.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Knowledge/experience of the subject area.
  • Understanding of quality issues and requirements in HE.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

This is a fixed term part-time, hourly paid position based at the Penryn campus.
