Associate Lecturer hours (Real Estate and Planning)
Academic year 2026/27
Rate of pay: Associate Lecturer A - £54.28 to C - £35.63
Hours: Variable hours
Fixed term until 31 October 2027
Location: Holloway Site
We are seeking to appoint an Associate Lecturer in Real Estate to join the Department of Sustainability, Surveying and Real Estate within the Guildhall School of Business and Law (School of Business, Environment and Law).
The postholder will contribute to teaching, assessment, student support and academic administration across our RICS-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate Real Estate provision. Teaching may cover areas including real estate law and planning, development, commercial real estate practice, valuation, accounting and investment.

We are particularly interested in applicants with a broad academic or professional background who can contribute across more than one area of the curriculum. The successful candidate will deliver inclusive lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials, using practical examples and industry-related materials to support students’ academic, professional and employability development.
The role will include assessment design, marking, moderation, feedback, maintaining WebLearn materials, and working with course and module leaders to support effective programme delivery and continuous improvement. The postholder will also contribute to student recruitment, outreach, employer and professional-body engagement, quality assurance and student continuation, completion and progression.
A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience of higher education teaching, assessment or student support are desirable. Membership of RICS, RTPI or another relevant professional body would be an advantage. Experience in valuation, development appraisal, financial analysis, professional practice or using commercial property data, market intelligence and valuation platforms would also be welcome. Teaching allocations will depend on the candidate’s expertise and the operational requirements of the Department.
