The role
The School of Construction, Property and Surveying at London South Bank University is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and industry-engaged Associate Lecturer to join our academic community.
The School of Construction, Property and Surveying is one of the UK's largest providers of built environment education, with more than 2,000 students studying across a diverse portfolio of programmes in built environment disciplines including architectural technology, building surveying, construction management, project management, quantity surveying, and real estate. The School has a strong reputation for delivering professionally focused education, supported by an extensive degree apprenticeship portfolio and long-standing relationships with employers across London and the South-East. Our courses benefit from accreditation by leading professional bodies, including APM, CABE, CIAT, CIOB and RICS, ensuring graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required by industry. The School maintains a strong focus on digital construction, sustainability and professional practice, preparing students to address the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the built environment while supporting the sector's ongoing transformation through innovation, technology and responsible development.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with relevant professional and/or academic experience in construction, surveying, project management or related built environment disciplines to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across our portfolio of undergraduate and apprenticeship programmes.
The successful candidate will support the development of future construction and property professionals through innovative teaching, assessment and student support activities. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the delivery of digitally enabled built environment education, including emerging technologies, digital construction approaches and contemporary industry practices.
Working within a collegiate and supportive environment, you will contribute to curriculum delivery, student achievement, academic administration and the continuous enhancement of the student experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career academic or experienced industry practitioner looking to transition into higher education.
What You Will Bring
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a good honours degree in a construction, surveying, project management or related built environment discipline.
- Possess relevant industry knowledge and experience within the built environment sector.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be committed to delivering an outstanding and inclusive student experience.
- Have the ability to support learning across architectural technology, construction management, project management, quantity surveying, commercial management and other built environment subject areas.

Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with expertise in quantity surveying, commercial management and/or digital construction, including BIM (Building Information Modelling), digital project delivery, data-enabled construction, and the use of industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Revit.

- Have knowledge of current industry practice and emerging trends within the built environment.
- Be committed to their own professional and scholarly development.
