About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Product & Customer Content Marketing, we are looking for a creative and results driven Associate Manager, Customer Content Marketing who will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of content assets to support our overall customer content strategy for the Research and Learning portfolio.
You will be joining our team of content, product and insights marketers responsible for executing the product and content marketing strategies across our researcher and society products, all informed by our in-depth customer insights.
Working in close partnership with our internal stakeholders across the Research Marketing and Demand Generation teams, the role holder will be responsible for implementing the content marketing program through the creation of regular customer focused content assets that will be used across the suite of marketing channels including (paid/organic social, paid search, email marketing, web)

Job Responsibilities
- In line with the content marketing strategy, create regular content assets (articles, white papers, blogs, infographics, videos, webinars) to generate new leads, expand our audience base and enhance the reputation of Wiley.
- Maintain and update a centralized content calendar which organizes content assets into appropriate streams based on customer segments. Ensure the Research Marketing teams’ content activations are captured within the content calendar so that the content team can track where assets are being used and their performance.
- Be responsible for writing, proofing and building individual content pieces on our Wiley Insights blog, working closely with the Brand, Content team to ensure they reflect the Wiley ToV and with the SEO team to ensure each piece is fully optimized.
- Be the expert on developing, reviewing and building pages using Webflow, the platform that powers Wiley.com, to support stakeholder campaign programs, working closely with the web team.
- Act as a steward of Cloudinary, our digital asset management system, ensuring all our content assets are organized within the asset library and are tracked as part of our campaigns.
- Apply SEO best practices for all content assets on Wiley.com or Wiley Insights, working closely with our Senior SEO Specialist.
- Work closely with the social team to populate appropriate organic and paid social channels with content based on audience segments.
- Collaborate with the enterprise level brand and content team to ensure their top of funnel/hero content is adapted and amplified across our Research Marketing and Learning audiences.
- Collaborate with journal and regional marketing managers to ensure content is promoted on subject and region-specific channels with appropriate positioning and messaging as well as translated for use on China communication channels.
- Develop clear content briefs using our intake platform (Workfront) for the creative team, ensuring assets illustrate a strong and cohesive researcher story and impactful visual identity in line with Wiley brand and messaging guidelines.
- Work with other marketing managers and third-party vendors on digital assets such as webinars, podcasts, videos to support the content marketing strategy when required.
- Work closely with product marketers to ensure our messaging, positioning frameworks and value propositions are translated into content assets to support our key product launches across distinct audience segments (individual researchers, institutional buyers, and society partners.)
- Work closely with our Customer Insights specialists to create content assets that highlight our key findings and create compelling narratives/storytelling to address opportunities and gaps in the competitive landscape.
- Work closely with the researcher and learning marketing teams to ensure content is used in our author email campaign programs, paid social, paid search and society resources.
- Produce regular reports of all content marketing activity (working closely with the Data and Analytics Team) in line with content marketing KPI’s and targets.

Required Qualifications
- Proactive, self-starter who can evaluate high-leverage opportunities to drive awareness and demand through content creation.
- Excellent written (copywriting and copy editing) skills are essential coupled with the ability to write engaging copy within a short timeframe.
- Experience of using CMS to build engaging and optimized landing pages/web articles as well the ability to interpret and produce basic web analytics reports.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to handle multiple priorities and respond quickly to ever-changing requirements.
- Ability to keep key objectives and targets in mind when developing content strategies, plans and activities.
- At least 1-2 year’s marketing experience is essential for this role and solid evidence, and experience of multi-channel and integrated marketing skills is required.
- Extensive understanding of how to generate demand through content marketing, and how to successfully create and deliver on content marketing strategies is desirable.
- Experience producing content (blogs, webinars, infographics, videos) and managing content calendars/schedules.
- An understanding of Open Science/Research, the wider publishing and research landscape, and the elements and actors within it, is desirable but not essential.
- An eminently reliable team player that responds well to a varied workload and plays a pivotal role in engaging our customers through content marketing and enhancing the reputation and image of our journal products and the company.

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
