Do you understand what sits underneath a strong digital publishing workflow, not just the final EPUB file? Are you confident working with XML, structured content and single-source publishing pipelines? Do you enjoy analysing recurring production issues and changing the process so they stop happening?
As Associate Manager, Content Production & Delivery, EPUB, you will own the workflow that transforms CFA Institute’s structured source XML content into high-quality, accessible EPUB outputs.
You will be responsible for the health of that pipeline: understanding why errors occur, improving the transformation process, reducing downstream quality issues and making production faster and more reliable as the volume of content grows. This is an opportunity to bring strong XML and structured publishing expertise into a growing team and influence how digital learning content is produced at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Own the EPUB publishing pipeline and ensure outputs are produced accurately, consistently and accessibly.
- Analyse errors identified during Quality Review and identify changes to the underlying workflow that prevent those problems recurring.
- Improve throughput by reducing rework and building smoother, more reliable transformation processes.
- Work hands-on with the master BITS XML dataset that sits behind CFA Institute’s single-source publishing model.
- Maintain and optimise EPUB transformation, rendering and validation workflows.
- Investigate device- and reader-specific rendering issues and make sure fixes work across relevant environments.
- Help ensure EPUB outputs meet accessibility, semantic tagging and presentation standards.
- Design, test and implement workflow and automation improvements within established publishing standards.
- Diagnose more complex cross-platform transformation and rendering problems and coordinate with Content Technology or other specialists where necessary.
- Maintain clear workflow documentation and standards so production processes can be used consistently across the team.
- Contribute broader XML and structured publishing expertise to related content production projects where capacity allows.
- Potentially get involved in new data conversion / ingestion projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with XML and structured content in an electronic or digital publishing environment.
- A practical understanding of single-source publishing, including how one structured source is transformed into multiple publication formats.
- Experience working with XML structures, schemas, DTDs or comparable structured-content standards.
- Demonstrable experience producing digital publishing outputs and managing the data and transformations behind them.
- Strong experience identifying and resolving problems within publishing pipelines rather than only correcting issues in the final output.
- Experience improving publishing workflows to reduce errors, rework and manual intervention.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to trace issues back through a transformation or production process.
- Working knowledge of EPUB production, accessibility and cross-device rendering.
- Experience collaborating across Production, Quality Review and Technology teams to resolve complex issues.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of a workflow and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Experience and practical understanding are more important than a particular academic background or previous industry.
- Data conversion / ingestion experience would be an advantage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
