As a team:
In the UK, Accenture partners with leading Energy/Chemicals/Natural resources firms. This includes optimising the management of upstream and downstream assets, integrating AI into operations, and driving sustainability in a cost-effective manner that positions them for future success. Accenture’s unique position, at the intersection of business and technology, means that our clients are turning to us for help with their most important business and technology challenges.
The role:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong understanding of commodity and energy trading processes and experience working with Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms, preferably OpenLink Endur.
You will work at the intersection of business and technology, partnering with traders, operations teams, risk functions, technology teams and third-party vendors to support the delivery, enhancement and operation of critical trading capabilities.
The role combines strong business analysis skills with trading domain expertise, stakeholder management and delivery experience across transformation programmes, platform implementations, upgrades, migrations and operational improvement initiatives.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Working alongside our clients, supporting delivery of technology engagements to address their most important business and technology challenges.
- Acting as the functional lead for assigned trading business capabilities or process domains.
- Leading business analysis activities including requirements gathering, process modelling, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
- Capturing business requirements and translating them into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and solution requirements.
- Developing a detailed understanding of front-to-back trading processes and using that knowledge to bridge business and technology teams.
- Conducting impact assessments and supporting target-state process design and business transformation initiatives.
- Supporting Endur and broader trading platform implementation, upgrade and migration programmes.
- Supporting testing activities, including system integration testing, user acceptance testing and defect triage.
- Supporting data migration, reconciliation, cutover planning and business readiness activities.
- Managing and prioritising functional enhancement backlogs and business requirements.
- Facilitating workshops, solution reviews and governance forums to drive decisions and manage delivery risks and dependencies.
- Working closely with traders, operations teams, risk functions, technology teams and third-party vendors to support and enhance trading capabilities.
- Supporting production issue analysis and resolution activities where required, including business impact assessment and root cause analysis.
- Analysing business processes, operational challenges and platform capabilities to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Providing clear business context and requirements to architects, developers, integration specialists and testing teams.
- Managing stakeholder relationships across business, IT and programme leadership teams.
- Collaborating with sales and solutioning teams to support proposals.
- Contributing to Accenture's Energy & Natural Resources Technology community through knowledge sharing, asset development and industry insights.
- Prioritising diversity and inclusion across teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
