The Role
As an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of complex building services projects across a range of sectors. You will be responsible for overseeing the design and technical delivery of projects while ensuring client expectations are consistently exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
- Allocate resources and manage team workloads to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clients.
- Attend client meetings and provide technical advice throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee project programmes, budgets, and quality standards.
- Review and approve design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
- Support business development activities and contribute to securing new work.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Proven experience within a Building Services consultancy environment.
- Strong mechanical design experience across a variety of sectors.
- Previous experience managing and developing engineering teams.
- Ability to effectively manage project delivery, resources, and workloads.
- Strong client-facing skills with experience building long-term relationships.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial management.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
